Expanded Access to Recombinant BCG for Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

Expanded Access to Recombinant BCG for Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

About

Non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) is cancer confined to the inner lining of the bladder and is the most common form of bladder cancer at diagnosis. Symptoms often include blood in the urine and urinary urgency or pain. NMIBC frequently returns after treatment, so patients need repeated procedures and long-term monitoring, which can affect quality of life. BCG, a weakened bacterium instilled into the bladder to stimulate the immune system, is the standard treatment, but supply shortages have limited access for many patients.

Purpose

This expanded access program provides recombinant BCG (rMBCG) to patients with NMIBC who are eligible for standard TICE® BCG and may benefit from it but are unable to receive it due to supply shortages. It is a treatment-access program rather than an investigational research study. Treatment is given as rMBCG instilled into the bladder, similar to standard TICE® BCG. It is currently available at many sites across the United States.

Eligibility

  • Adults with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC)
  • Eligible to receive TICE® BCG per product label and treating institution
  • If never treated with BCG before, may enroll only if TICE® BCG is unavailable

Benefits

If you qualify for the study, recombinant BCG (rMBCG) treatment will be provided to you at no cost. You will still be responsible for your regular healthcare costs such as copays and deductibles.

Send us a message if you are interested in participating in a study.
