While September is widely recognized as back to school time, it is also Prostate Cancer Awareness Month both nationally and in New York State. In New York State alone over 17,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year. As children return to school, this is a great time to remind the men in your life to have a discussion with their doctor to determine if a prostate check-up is right for them.

Advanced Urology Centers of New York, Advanced Radiation Centers of New York, Integrated Medical Foundation, and Henry Schein Cares, the global corporate social responsibility program of Henry Schein, Inc., are partnering together to raise awareness among families across the country of the importance of putting prostate cancer check-ups on the calendar for the men in their lives. September – which for many families is back-to-school time for the kids – is also prostate cancer awareness month.
