Recognized as one of Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors” for many years, Dr. Steven Berman of Advanced Urology Centers of New York (AUCNY) has been a highly respected physician for nearly 40 years.

Dr. Berman has held both clinical and academic positions. In addition to seeing patients at AUCNY, he is affiliated with Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, New York Hospital – Cornell and Northwell/Lenox Hill.

Dr. Berman practices general urology with a particular interest in kidney, bladder and prostate cancer and early detection. He has been published in several medical journals on topics ranging from urethroplasty for incontinence to prostate cancer treatment for HIV positive patients.

Dr. Berman, a board-certified physician, earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate, Brooklyn, NY in 1981. Afterwards, Dr. Berman interned in General Surgery and completed his urology residency at Montefiore-Albert Einstein Medical Center in 1986.
His society memberships include the AUA, The New York Section of the AUA and the NY State Medical Society.

Dr. Berman is married and has three grown up children. He enjoys most outdoor sports in particular tennis, skiing and swimming.
